We see the role of the professional - engineers, systems analysts, finance professionals, human resource advisors, any professional who needs to deliver an expertise - as a cornerstone to the success of organizations. Yet little is written on the skills professionals need to successfully deliver their expertise inside modern organizations.
  We present a modern model to revolutionize professionals’ view of themselves and their way of working. To get into a more powerful frame of mind, we encourage professionals and professional groups to think of themselves as an internal consulting business, offering skills and services inside their organization. Used effectively, the skills and models of this website will ensure professionals get their expertise used and valued within their organizations.

Bios of the Principals:

From Calgary, Canada, Murray and Eilish Hiebert lead a worldwide consulting organization specializing in professional development and organizational effectiveness. With clients ranging from multinational companies through government agencies to small entrepreneurial organizations, Our proven specialty is leadership and professional productivity -- leadership development; developing internal professionals and world-class internal consulting groups; career management, change management, coaching and strategy development.

Murray's experience in a multinational company included positions as technical training advisor, senior management development advisor, organizational effectiveness consultant and human resources manager. Experienced in both internal and external consulting, Murray has worked in Canada, the USA and worldwide, from the Arctic Circle to Brazil and across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Winner of the Practitioner of the Year award, Murray has presented on the topic of internal consulting and professional productivity at professional gatherings all over North America. Presentations include ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) conferences, Association of Internal Management Consultants, Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario, and Linkage Inc. Consulting Skills Institute.

Murray's publications include:

• Powerful Professionals: Getting Your Expertise Used Inside Your Organization, with accompanying Fieldbooks, designed as a 'how-to' book for knowledge workers, including engineers, systems analysts, human resource professionals. The book is now in its second edition and is readily available from the publisher at www.Trafford.com.
• A world-class internal consulting skills workshop, presented worldwide by associates, available in English, French and German, and selected as the pre-conference workshop for the Association of Internal Management Consultants (AIMC). Its 360 feedback survey results have provided the world's largest database on high performance skills of professionals-as seen by their own customers.
• The Encyclopedia of Leadership, published by McGraw-Hill Business Books, New York (2001). Designed to provide modern, busy leaders with practical help in 15 minutes or less, it includes over 125 classical and modern leadership tools, each summarized in a few pages, including application worksheets. Unique leadership development "workshoplets" designed for very busy leaders are produced with the PowerfuLeaders Alliance, Inc.
• Numerous articles in scientific journals, professional newsmagazines, international human resource development journals, Executive Excellence, The Wall Street Journal and the AIMC Forum. His work has twice been selected for the American Society for Training and Development "The Best of …" series.

Murray has a Masters degree in Science.

Eilish, his business and life partner, is an experienced writer and editor, author of How Green Was My Ireland? has worked extensively in cross-cultural and overseas areas. She has worked in international development for many years, living and working in North America, Europe, Africa, India and Singapore. Besides editing books, she designs and delivers programs in the area of cross-cultural relations to diverse groups. Her extensive writing and editing experience includes publishing a series of brochures on world religions and production of an award winning TV series. She has been Murray’s writing (and life) partner for many years.

They have two adult sons, one an Economist in Frankfurt and the other working in Geographic Information Systems in Denver.
